I choose these two pictures to put on my start page to show people that even the youngest of us have to fight to live. These two pictures were taken at my last two hospital stays when it didn't look to good for me. I just had to have a second stomach surgery and my body was not doing well. My stomach had completely stopped working for about three weeks. But with God's help and with all the prayers I finally started responding to the medications and my stomach "woke up"
Since then I have lost my G-tube and have not had a hospital stay in over a year, this is the first time in my life I have went this long with out one.
I am also able to talk now (two and three word sentences) and I am learning new things every day. My speech is now up to a three year old level (only 2 years and 5 months delayed), my fine motor skills are also delayed as well.
We think we have finally found the syndrome that I have. It is called Dubowitz Syndrome. This doesn't mean much but now at least we know why I have the problems I have.
Well, the year 2002 and most of 2003 have been good to me. I have had three pneumonias but I have not had to be hospitalized for them. I have had only 3 ER visits the rest were visits with the doctor at his office.
I will be starting kindergarten in the fall, it is hard to belive I have come this far. Mommy also started a new webpage so that all of my friends can keep on track of my updates, it is www.caringbridge.org/fl/zacharyt , you can now go there for my latest updates and pictures.
